Round with clear edges, from slim, straightforward elegance: this is model tangent - that primordial watch from NOMOS Glashütte, which acts like a trademark, the manufactory embodies almost no other. In 1992, the exceptional watch - unbelievably beautiful with a striking dial and a straight-line case - won more than 40 awards. Now the NOMOS classic and steer is exciting new: model tangent, traditionally with hand lift, is now also available with an automatic caliber.
DUW 3001 is the name of the new exceptionally flat work, which ensures the best walking characteristics - and for particularly narrow, balanced proportions on the wrist. Because at 6.9 millimeters high, tangential automatic is hardly a whiff thicker than the hand-held model, 0.3 millimeters, to be exact. The combination of the advantages is the groundbreaking, because: automatic watches, which are, as it were, flat, highly precise and affordable, are not available so far. The NOMOS Glashütte designers were successful with two tricks: firstly, almost all caliber parts were mounted between the work surface and the three-seater table, no additional superstructures were used. Secondly, the manufacturing tolerances of the parts were halved up to 50 percent, which made it possible to achieve the highest accuracy despite the flat height.
Best prospects for NOMOS lovers: Whether with manual lift or automatic caliber is now no longer a question of size. Only tiny details on the dial are the distinguishing features of the new automatic tangent from the classic with hand-lift also on the arm: the small typography in the minuterie, a slightly modified small second, the lettering "automatic" under the NOMOS logo. Tangent automatic is available from autumn.
